Sports Champions Playstation Move (PS3)

Get physical and take part in a mix of competitive sporting events in the new game from Zindagi Games. Sports Champions uses the PlayStation Move controllers and the PlayStation Eye peripheral, and introduces players to a new way of playing games on their PS3, using motion controlled sports related action.

Designed for both relaxed and hard-core players, Sports Champions has six events consisting of a series of modern and medieval sports, and includes games such as Disc Golf and Bocce. There are three gameplay modes to choose from - Free Play, Challenge and Champion Cup mode: Free Play mode, allows players to play practice matches. Challenge mode lets players take part in a series of events, in order to increase their high scores. Champion Cup mode is an Olympic type event, where players compete against 10 other athletes to be crowned the ultimate champion. You can get up to three friends to take part using the game's multiplayer mode.

The Sports

Table tennis
In Table Tennis, you’ll use a Move controller as a paddle which lets you volley, perform heavy spins, serve slices and perform lobs and slams. The PlayStation Eye will monitor your body position, adjusting their character's orientation and position from the table.

Volleyball
In this game, you’ll have no direct control over where your on-screen character starts the match or stands. Instead you must concentrate on bumping, setting and spiking the ball. The key to playing this game is your timing. A coloured circle around the ball will let you know when it’s best to make your move and deliver a strike. You can play with game with either one or two Move controllers.

Gladiator Duel
This sport lets you use two Move controllers, one as a weapon and the other as a shield. Fill-up the power meter and you’ll be able to unleash a two-hit combo on your opponent. Hold down the trigger and swing the controller up to jump. You’ll face a wide range of enemies in this game, and there’s a large variety of unlockable weapons including some really unusual ones.

Disc golf
Your objective here is to throw a Frisbee down a golf-like course and get it into the bucket before your challenger does. The Move controller can detect the angle of the Frisbee, the power of your throw and the snap of the release.

Bocce
In Bocce, two players will take turns to throw wooden balls at a similar looking but smaller wooden ball, located down the field. Gets your ball(s) closest to the smaller ball to win the point (or, if there are multiple balls that are the closest to the smaller ball, you can win multiple points). Hit your opponent's ball so it rolls, either further away or closer to the target ball. The Move controller will detect the weight, spin and release of each throw.

Archery
This game let you use one or two Move controllers (using two, the player should hold one controller as if it was a bow, and the other as if it was an arrow). You must reach back behind you, press and hold the ‘T’ button to pull an arrow from your quiver, notch the arrow by putting the two Move controllers next to each other, pull back with the Move that will control the arrow, and then once you the required tension, release the ‘T’ button to fire. Depending on how far back you pull the arrow, the further it will travel. If you’re using one controller, you’ll need to reach back the same way, to notch you simply point the Move controller straight out towards the screen. The longer you hold the ‘T’ button down the further the arrow will go.
